Sam Cummings is awarded “Best In
Class” with his Roman Auto Prep restored and maintained
Trans Am GTV. This year the prestigious Concours,
held off the coast of northern Florida, featured 1966
through 1972 Trans Am cars. Sam’s car was entered
in the “Under Two Liter” Trans Am class.
Sam Cumming’s car
is the famous Horst Kwech Trans Am car from 1971 and
1972 which was restored in 1996 by Roman Auto Prep and
has been raced continuously since. Roman explains,
"While it is obvious that Sam’s car has been an active
race car it still shows very well. Even by today's
standards Horst’s original graphic concept is quite
impressive and continues to catch everyone’s eye. Beyond
the cars visual impact is the fact that this car was
certainly the most technically advanced Alfa racing
sedan ever constructed for the Trans Am and I
think this fact may have swayed the judges."
